Our mission is that together, with the community, the Sharon St. Cyr Fund, Inc. (SSC Fund) will create different programs to raise funds to provide hearing aids for hearing-impaired individuals and provide grants to organizations for ASL interpreting services for the deaf and hard of hearing community.
Christopher Edwards was born in Bermuda. He was educated in Canada and graduated from York University with a BA English. He moved to Dallas in 2000 with his marketing job, rising to Senior Manager for Secondary Markets with the Bermuda Tourism Dept. In 2002 he met his now husband, Shelby, here in Dallas and has called the city home ever since. Christopher has been always very socially minded and involved with several charities helping raise money for the community at large. In his free time, Christopher can be found thrifting for "treasure", planning the next trip and scheming on how to decorate the next perfect Christmas tree, yes it is a passion/ obsession. Christopher lives locally in Addison, TX.
Lipps La Rue has been fundraising for charities around Dallas and around the nation for 15 years. She is a member of the United Court of the Lone Star Empire, reigning as Empress 37, and will help any organization that needs a lending hand. She continually raises money for Texas Gay Rodeo Association, The Dallas Bears, the SSC Fund, Tucker's Gifts, Team Friendly and any organization that benefits the gay community.
Her favorite motto and one that she lives by is "Out of my way, I have a show to do".
Joel Leggett has a BFA from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and spent his youth studying and performing at the Studio Theater and the Kennedy Center in Washington DC. He has been a Dallas native since the early nineties and is an IT Professional for a multinational bank. He spends his spare time singing karaoke and belting out tunes on Monday nights at the Balcony Club. He can also be found driving the side streets of Texas on his Royal Enfield motorcycle.
Jeffrey began the SSC Fund in 2009 to bring awareness to the deaf and hearing-impaired community. Jeffrey owns and manages Victory Court Reporting, Inc. and the Dallas Eagle. He is also the CEO/President of ILSb-ICBB Inc. Jeffrey is married to Sergio Saragoca and they share their home with 11 rescue puppies.
Christopher Stinnett is a native of Fort Worth, TX, and a resident of Dallas since 1989. In addition to being a Member-at-Large on the Board of the SSC Fund, he is active with the United Court of the Lone Star Empire, having served on their Board of Directors, prior to being elected as Emperor XL – Emperor being one of the pair that are charged with raising funds during their year.
He has been a singing member, and served on the Board of Directors, of the Turtle Creek Chorale, Inc., and been a member of Arts District Chorale, and has served on the leadership teams of other not-for-profit organizations in Dallas.
Tracy Diaz has over 11 years’ experience in working with non-profit organizations. Tracy graduated with a master’s degree in Community Counseling with specializations in Mental Health, Substance Abuse and LGBT concerns. Tracy worked as a Quality Mental Health Professional and Case Worker for disadvantaged youth for over 8 years and looks in to continuing that work once she receives her License Professional Counseling SSC fund is her passion due to her own grandmother being hearing impaired. Besides hanging out with her wife Melissa and their fur babies, Tracy’s interest is reading, listening to good music and getting dolled up as her showgirl persona “Ms. Karamel” to help raise money for local DFW charities’.
Amie McNamara, M.S., LPC, LCDC is a psychotherapist in private practice in the Dallas metroplex. Originally from San Antonio, Amie moved up to North Texas to pursue her studies in 1997. She earned her Master's of Science degree in Counseling from Southern Methodist University in Dallas. Prior to that, Amie graduated Magna cum Laude from the University of Texas at Dallas with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology as well as a Bachelor's degree in Criminology. She is passionate about helping those in need and giving back to her community.
